• Lisa Girling (Director)

  Lisa has been teaching English since she graduated from Durham University at the end of the 80s. She is Cambridge Certificate and Diploma qualified.

  In Barcelona she has taught in several universities and was Head of Department at a private business university. Lisa moved into teacher training many years ago and took over as Director of TEFL International Barcelona in 2005. She likes to think she runs the centre with a firm but gentle hand, is obsessed with Humanistic ideals and is famously easy to win over with tea and dark chocolate! When not in the school (and she virtually lives there..) Lisa enjoys being outside in the countryside or on the beach, spending time with her family and cats, reading and painting.

  
  
• Jamie Cruickshank (Teacher Trainer)

  Originally from Folkestone, England, Jamie was travelling from 1999 to places such as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Indonesia following his passion for the surf until settling in Barcelona in 2001. He took his TEFL certificate in 2001 and is now a Trinity Diploma qualified teacher and Cambridge oral examiner.

  
  
• Jane Kirsch (Teacher Trainer)

  Jane is originally from the south of England and worked in magazine publishing and marketing in London before moving to Barcelona. She has 8 years English teaching experience, and has worked as a teacher trainer since completing the Trinity Diploma in 2005. Jane is currently studying for a PhD in Education at the University of Nottingham, specialising in CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning). In her free time she loves snowboarding and cheering on her favourite Barcelona football team, RCD Español.

  
  
• Mike Thompson (Career Guidance Tutor)

  Michael moved to Barcelona from the United States in 2010 and is responsible for career guidance and job placement. Michael has been teaching English for the last 3 years and specialises in business classes, private classes and business related seminars. He spent close to a decade in the banking and sales world and works with academies and businesses to ensure job placement for graduating TEFL students. Michael enjoys hiking, football (not American), travelling and he does not like learning Spanish.
